I went into the movie liking the trailer and expecting a sweet love story. But the movie exceeded my expectations. The actors were well cast and the writing was sharp. The movie will make you laugh and maybe make you cry as well. It did both for me. Imagine all the promo we would have gotten if it wasn"t for covid. I hope there"s a part 2 of the half of it??????. Rom-coms aren"t known for their originality. However, this movie stands out among the several in the genre that I have watched recently for being genuine, sweet, funny, and enjoyable. I generally don"t believe in qualifying how much I enjoyed a movie with a rating system but this movie left me with such a content feeling that I wanted other people to know how much I enjoyed it. This movie touches on heavy, serious subjects while remaining true to the genre with an overall happy tone and a mostly happy but still ambiguous ending. I love how this movie pays attention to little details in the characters and their relationships in a way that is very satisfying to watch. I recommend this movie to anyone who is in need of a sweet coming-of-age rom-com.

Growing up as an awkward, nerdy asian girl who never felt like the main character in life, this just means so much. Amazing, thoughtful, well-written, well-acted, well-produced movie. Cried three times watching it. So somber and bittersweet. Alice Wu is a genius. I was so excited to see Alice Wu was directing again. “Saving Face” made me feel seen and understood at a time when I was finding myself. Listening to her talk about every detail here is mesmerizing. Do people like Aster exist but? She is too sweet lol.

Alice wu (director of this film) said that the slap was meant for ellie, thats why aster kept her eyes locked on ellie while she did it. because ellie hurt aster through paul, so aster did the same thing back by hurting ellie through paul.
There were some aspects of the story that I really enjoyed and others that I could"ve done without. I think details like having Ellie and her father speak Mandarin were really touching. Paul"s sausage taco was funny. On the other hand, I think the plot could"ve done with a lot less Aster. She"s a much needed character form the beginning and she"s certainly not like the cliché popular girl. But I think the third act would"ve done a lot better if it had just focused on Paul and Ellie"s friendship. The whole church scene felt overdramatic and unrealistic. By the end, Aster just feels like an object of all the character"s desire but without any of her own. Also, this movie seems to care a lot about subverting clichés. Make Paul a part of the football team but they"re really bad. Have Ellie and Paul go shopping and he gives her a "makeover. But not like the usual makeovers with dresses, put her in jeans and a button-up. While, I definitely appreciate that they weren"t doing the usual romcom, it would"ve been nice if it didn"t feel like they were trying so hard not to. Props to the ending train scene though, that tugged at the heartstrings.

The movie got me ??, it was so good! Also Alexxis is so hyper. Was not expecting it but Im living for it ???? (The deciduous ??. Alexxis: so that"s really my specialty like, memes, vines and the office GIRL YOU"RE MAKING ME FALL FOR YOU EVEN HARDER WHAT. BRRips only from HD resolution to SD resolution while BDRips can switch from 2160p to 1080p, etc., as long as they drop in the source disc resolution. This movie was so well done i love it. Anybody know the name of the song in that scene. It"s amazing how she knows what to tell the dude to tell her. ????????. I love how they added clips from the making of it. those are really candid moments we get to see. Leah, Alice, and Daniel all smiling and laughing, ugh this movie is a masterpiece.
